One man killed in early Wednesday wreck with 18-wheeler along College Street

The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck and another was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital.

BEAUMONT, Texas — One driver is dead and another was taken to a local hospital following an early Wednesday morning wreck in Beaumont involving an 18-wheeler.

Beaumont Police officers are investigating after two vehicles and an 18-wheeler were involved in the wreck at about 12:30 a.m. in the 5200 block of College Street near Delmar Drive according to Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins.

The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck and another was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital according to Collins.

The name of the male driver who was killed is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.

An autopsy has been ordered by Judge Collins.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
