Car-18-wheeler crash at Texas intersection claims 3rd life

BRYAN, Texas (KWTX) A third person has died after a car pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler Monday evening at a highway intersection in western Brazos County.

Thomas Bacak, 66, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to CHI St. Joseph Health in Bryan in critical condition where he later died.

The other two people riding in the car died at the scene.

They were identified Tuesday as James William Bacak, 81, of Burton, and his wife Irene Bacak, 80.

The accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Highway 21 and OSR, KBTX in Bryan reported.

The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn’t injured.
