SAN ANTONIO — The driver of a big rig was killed when his truck plunged off an overpass and landed upside down on the street below.

The rig fell off I-10 at about 7 a.m. just passed the notorious Finesilver Curve located near downtown San Antonio.

Police said the driver was taking the Finesilver Curve when he was involved in a minor accident with another driver on the highway. As a result of the minor accident, the driver lost control of the rig and flew off the highway.

The driver was killed in the accident. Footage from the scene showed chunks of concrete were missing along the righthand side of the highway.

A turnaround under the elevated highway, where the rig landed, was closed, but traffic continued to move along the access road.

The other driver involved in the minor accident was not seriously hurt and was cooperating with officers. The second vehicle did not fall off the highway.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as they become available.
